Question Asked:

BudURL.com is moving to better facilities - how it will affect you? New Date! Posted last year by Mike Saenz in BudURL.com

Update: The server move has been postponed to August 20th - 21st from the original date of July 23rd - 24th.

BudURL.com server is moving to a larger, more cost and energy efficient data center for overall site improvement. This does not affect BudURL.Pro users. If you share links using budurl.com, this move will have an impact to you.

The move will take approximately 14 hours and will take place during the following time frame:

CDT:

Sat, 20 Aug 2011 18:00:00 GMT-0500 (CDT) to Sun, 21 Aug 2011 08:00:00 GMT-0500 (CDT)

Or GMT:

Sat, 20 Aug 2011 23:00:00 GMT to Sun, 21 Aug 2011 13:00:00 GMT

What does this mean to you?

During this move and longer for some users there will be some side effects:

  • Your links will still work and redirect users to the desired destination
  • Your clicks and their data will not be recorded
  • You will not be able to login or create new links although you can use the API’s expand function
  • No new registrations will be allowed until after the move is completed

We advise all customers to not plan any campaigns or perform any significant business-related activity during this time that requires the use of tracking on BudURL.com. If you require tracking services during this window of time, we encourage you to sign up for a separate account under our budurl.pro service at http://budurl.pro . The .Pro servers are not impacted by this move.

We apologize for the inconvenience but is a necessary step for the overall improvement and health of the BudURL service. If you have any concerns, please email support@budurl.com.

Sincerely,

BudURL.com team

Hi Mike,  I really like your service but after reading the message I have a question. Will the budurl.com system return to normal operation under the same price structure after the change over? The pro version is a lot more expensive then what I am using now and if your price is going to go up after this move then I will need to start moving my entire marketing to another provider.

Thanks,

Jeff

Jeff,

Pricing will not change after the move. The move is being done for the long-term health of the BudURL site. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Did the move happen? If it did, I didn't even notice - so well done.
