Question Asked:

We posted a link via our Facebook page on October 14th which currently has 51 clicks, but shows only 26 are from social media sites. That doesn't make sense, can you advise how this works? Posted 3 years ago by in BudURL

Hi, Sarah.  I'm not sure which program you are using that indicates social media clicks vs. others.  If the only place the link was visible was on Facebook, it could be that the referer information was not passed through.  This means that while the link was posted to Facebook, it doesn't guarantee that Facebook always shares this with the analytics.  This is the value of using specific links for specific platforms (ie, one for Facebook, one for Twitter, one for Email, etc.).
